Hone Your Instincts: Scrapping with Pinterest Printables

I have two current scrapping obsessions: 1. Journaling cards, which have been showing up on nearly every page I've done lately (more on that topic later), and 2. Printable artwork from Pinterest that I've been using as word art!

If you search "printable" or "download" on Pinterest, there's a fantastic selection of goodies that pop up.  Some are store links to products that cost money, but quite a few are freebies that people have posted on their blogs.  Most are intended for home decor, but I've been downloading them to use as word art on my pages...and I love them!  Just make sure to give credit to the artist when you use their work...

A few of my recent faves:

Rainbows Printable

School Days Printable

And a couple I've pinned but haven't gotten to yet!

Sketches and Templates Galore

I've written before about how much I like sketches and templates, and if you pay any attention to my layout credits, you know I use them routinely.  So, since it's the first of the month and some of my favorite places are releasing their new work, I thought I'd give you some yummy links!  And, since you know I'm unrepentantly cheap...they're all free!

Sketches:

PageMaps: monthly collection of fabulous sketches in 12x12 and 8.5x11 sizes.  Posted with gorgeous samples and available in an easy-to-download .pdf!
My Sketch World: twice-monthly sketches for both layouts and cards, with inspiration samples by a talented and diverse creative team.
Scrapbook Challenges: weekly sketches posted with samples in a forum where you can share your work and be encouraged.

Templates:

Chrissy W Designs: posts weekly template freebies on her blog.  The link will take you to her store at Elemental Scraps.  If the blog isn't up-to-date, you can also find her by going directly to ES and searching for freebies!
A Cherry on Top: monthly "Digi Doable" templates posted, along with a huge stash of other freebies.
Free Digital Scrapbooking: free monthly template and kit sampler.  Post your work there for a chance to win free printing at Persnickety Prints!
Scrap Orchard: staff hosts a monthly template challenge...you'll have to go to the Forum area of the site to download the current template.

Enjoy!

In Honor of Tulip Time...

May in West Michigan means that (literally) thousands of tulips spring up for the celebration of Tulip Time. And, as it concludes this weekend, I found a little freebie for you to use with the myriad of pictures you took at the festival! These sketchy tulips are by Hero Arts Digital and available at Two Peas in a Bucket. The free download includes the full-color .png, plus a cute set of coordinated digital buttons.

If you're not a digi-scrapper, don't let it deter you from grabbing this great freebie. It can easily be printed and cut from cardstock, vellum, tissue or even fabric. Just imagine how these sweet tulips would be on your springtime layouts and cards!

Happy Scrapping!
